Premier offshore energy location, Energy Central, a brand-new partnership between Arch and Port of Blyth, is one of the headline sponsors at this week's Subsea North East Conference and Exhibition at St James' Park, Newcastle.

The event, which is being run by NOF Energy and Subsea UK, will see around 150 leading subsea companies from across the UK in attendance, exploring opportunities in the subsea market. Subsea North East follows a successful industry launch for Energy Central at last week’s Offshore Wind Europe Conference in London.

Energy Central will significantly aid the development of the offshore energy sector in the region building on the growth of a cluster of offshore energy suppliers in Blyth and the investment there by firms such as IHC Engineering Business and OSBIT, alongside key projects such as EDF's Blyth Offshore Wind Demonstrator project and North Sea Link. The site is situated on the East Coast of the UK and provides access to nearly 200 hectares of land strategically positioned with quayside access.

Arch and Port of Blyth are promoting a selection of strategic development sites across the Blyth Estuary in Northumberland. These include development sites with Enterprise Zone status offering financial incentives – Northumberland Energy Park, Bates Terminal & Wimbourne Quays, Dun Cow Quay and Commissioners Quay –and established sites South Harbour and Battleship Wharf. These sites, together with a number of key assets such as the Offshore Renewable Energy Catapult, a Port training center and a collection of Newcastle Universities research facilities, contribute to the subsea offering of Energy Central.
